    Hi Rene ,
    It's a mortar fuse , transportation container.
    They pack all these into a wooden box and off you go ( to the Russian front ) or wherever
    I have some 88mm AA fuse ones, same construction material but bigger.
    Come in 3 Colours
    Black , Brown & Burgundy , like a timer thing , they explode at different heights.

    It’s a container for the ELAZ 25 electric fuzes used in large Luftwaffe bombs.
