ID magazine and ammo

Article about: Hi, Found in Irak. Probably linked to fieldartillery. What is it and what is the use of it? Magazine is 20 cm x 7,5 cm. Ammo is 7,5 cm long. Thanks in advance, Luc

    The answer to you’re question is stamped on the head.

    It’s a TUBE VENT, ELECTRIC “625” L1A4.

    Used as the initiator on the 120mm gun fitted to Cheiftan and Challenger.

    RG could be Radway Green as the maker of the initiator.

    Now that I know what it is, I checked on Internet and found lot of drawings.
    But why a magazine? Stowage or is there a mecanism to load them from the magazine?

    There is a mechanism to load from the magazine. It’s just one thing less for the loader to worry about.
