Tested on Chieftain, then used with Challenger 1 and still in use on Challenger 2.

The Blue Petals, Base Plate and Driving Band are original genuine inert items. Has two bolts so it can be displayed on a board or hung on a wall. Very hard to come by these days.

    madtheswine99,

Sorry to have to tell you but L29A1 for the Chali 2 is the normal Practice round and about as common as it gets! It is not a cutaway it is just the nylon retaining band has been cut at the front and one on the petals removed. Being inert with no tracer or any explosive components they seem to become leaving gifts Etc. As the A1 version has been superceded alot of these in Unit hands were deemed for local disposal by reduction to unrecognisable scrap. People however seem to have translated this into local disposal by reduction to a leaving gift or ornament.

I have about 4 in the office at the moment but now you have reminded me I must get rid of 3 of them, (before you ask, NO, they will go to official sources).

Oh and the cone instead of fins is both to impart stability and to reduce velocity and therefore lessen the danger area.
