Some German/Luxembourg finds from last year.
Some German/Luxembourg finds from last year.
Picture 3 has some post war 7.62 (I think) plastic blanks, Picture 7 has parts of a WW2 German Gas Mask, either a GM30 or GM38 and picture 11 looks like a flare cartridge. Nice finds
Thanks
Danny
Hey Dave
I am sure you're aware anyway but here goes some ID's on the cartridges and other bits. The headstamps will confirm them.....
Picture 1 - Mixture of .30cal and German 7.92mm. German ones are the shorter ones. Nice .50cal cartridges and projectiles The coin looks like a renten pfennig.
Picture 3 - Modern plastic blanks
Picture 5 - Top off a .30 cal ammo tin. A .50cal below it with link still in place. To the right a stripper clip for either 7.92 or .30cal. Your cartridges are a mix of .30 cal and 7.92mm. The German 7.92's are the shorter ones. Nice Garand clip as well
Picture 8 - Look like WW1 cartridges.
Picture 10 - .50cal is the big bugger, next one I am unsure of but could be a Lebel. Next one is German 7.92mm and last one is American .30cal, both manufactured in 1944.
Hope that helps Nice finds.

The lid is from a US .30 cal M1 ammo can and the big circular thing looks like a Martin Baker Ejection Seat Booster cart but given the 1940s date, its unlikely. Did the items come from a Military establishment or found in a field?
These are all field finds.
Thanks Steve thats the same information I came up with for the most part,And so far this year I've found 5 Garand clips and more Gas Mask parts and even a periscope from a M4 Sherman tank and tons more. Soon as I get the time I will post more.
Thanks for your interest.
Dave.
Thanks Danny I appreciate the info.

Would love to see more pictures when you've got the time
