The makers mark looks good. there are 2 schools of thought as to who it is A.D.Schwerdt or Adolph Scholz of Stuttgart. I never did find out which was correct.
I like it orig item IMO.

I have to disagree here guys, as far as I know, this is a well known fake.

Sorry, This lacks the detail found on original Abzeichen.
I have received another opinion and it seems it's a fake or reproduction. Now my question becomes, what gives it away? Thanks everyone for your help!
Jim
Pretty much everything! The obverse design is wrong for this maker and the reverse is just unlike the originals, this is a flat back, originals have a scooped reverse. The hinge should be a ball hinge, the pin is too thick, the catch is wrong and the makers mark is in completely the wrong place. Maybe one of the other guys can post a pic of an original to show what they should look like.

Adrian...Thank you....and Big Ned...I did click on the linky thingy...Thanks....Jim
Yep, that's a good example to compare to, the differences are obvious. The makers mark should be located on the reverse of the swastika.
