Got this medal in the post, and have been waiting a while for a nice example like this. Not only does this include the award document and the miniature version, I was happy to find it also had the original letter informing the recipient of when & where they would be given their award.

Awarded between 1981 and 1999, it was given for those who participated in the initial defense of Poland, when Germany invaded its borders. It was given not only to military veterans, but also members of the Police, paramilitary, resistance and even school organisations and scout troops, who were involved in active defense of Poland.

A really nice piece, it's a very solid and chunky medal, and is quite heavy.
