Default Polish Mig 17F, 1958 question

Hello all. Is there anyone that can tell me more about what seems to be Polish Air Force Squadron insignia? Here are pics of a 1958 Mig 17F, Lim-5. On the top of the tail there is a green painted swathe with a black inked J and the numbers/date 1927, a word above and one below. All help appreciated. Best, Bill Bourque

Strangely enough it's something to do with a Polish football club!...

Thank you Gunny, strange for sure and crazy cool. Neither of the air bases shown are anywhere near Bialystok. I should have posted this a couple of years ago as I searched nearly all Polish Air Force info on the net. Maybe the pilot was once a player. Best, Bill

    Do you own the aircraft?

Hi Yes, I'm proud to say I own it. After 50 years of collecting I was able to sell a large portion of my collection at a respectable profit and purchase this aircraft. I knew it wasnt possible to own a WW2 German aircraft as the prices start in the millions. The Mig 17F aircraft as the story goes was modeled after the FW Ta183 Luftwaffe jet fighter, "the Raven that annoys", https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Focke-Wulf_Ta_183 . It is operational but not flyable at this time. I start it up once a year but it burns 6-7 gallons a minute at idle, kind of expensive for 15". Best, Bill Bourque
