A couple from me.......
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
It is interesting to see the non regulation tie of the portepee in this photo from post #6.
The portepee in the photo from post #12 seems to be tied around the guard, again non regulation.
When receiving daggers with portepees tied in unusual fashion from private sources we often assume that they were tied incorrectly post war. This is sometimes not the case. Period non regulation ties certainly make the dagger more personal.
