Any photos of a Soviet soldier wearing a medal during combat?
I was wondering if anyone has/knows of a photo of a Red Army soldier wearing a medal that was taken during combat (preferably not a staged one)?
A fellow collector friend and I were having a discussion about whether or not Red Army soldiers wore their medals into combat, and I would like to show him proof that they did. (We even bet money on it!)
Thanks for the help.
Regards,
Nikita.

Yes, Soviet soldiers and officers have worn their awards during combat (Not all but most of them). My grandpa had his medals always on his uniform during every battle. I will try to provide some photographs with soldiers wearing their medals during combat.
P.S. Soviets have worn their medals during battle same as the Germans did.
Best regards,

Soviet soldiers wearing medals during combat
Do you know the color film by George Stevens of the meeting between the US and the Soviet army near Torgau, Germany on April 26, 1945?
This film shows enough distinguished Soviet soldiers.
George Stevens was an American film director, producer and cinematographer.

That is a very interesting film. I noticed at 2:21 there's a soldier wearing only the suspenions of his campaign medals without the medals itself and at 2:34 there's a soldier wearing the Order of Glory III without ribbon.

Missing ribbon
The soldier at 2:34 is a very distinguished warrior. He is even a Hero of the Soviet Union.
Also interesting is that he is wearing the starshina service dress shoulder boards of the artillery.
Would he have known that there would be filming that day?
The meeting between the Americans and Soviets that day is more or less staged.
The missing ribbon on his Order of Glory will have been replaced afterwards as has been done with so many medals.

An image of Soviet and Polish Soldiers in Vilnius, July 44. The 2nd last is wearing some medals, probably a Medal For Bravery, or such.
