Album of Luftwaffe Man - Wilhelm Kneidl

Here is another of my Luftwaffe albums showing Unteroffizier, Wilhelm Kneidl's service from HJ, RAD to Luftwaffe. Hospital discharge papers showing he was wounded in action and survived the war. Some good photos of him in uniform as well.

Am I right in thinking he served in the 2./Flug-betriebskompanie, Transport Geschwader 1?

Wonderful set and especially interesting to see all the PoW release papers too!

I can’t really read the text properly because it’s slightly out of focus, but it looks like he was wounded by shrapnel from English tank fire on March 7, 1945 west of Wesel (while serving with Fallschirmjäger Regiment 7). He underwent abdominal surgery the same day and was in various hospitals until August 1945.

Fantastic grouping Rossi. Really impressive and very historical. Having the Soldbuch is especially neat, as the soldiers carried them on their person.

Actually, this in many cases is what we should expect.
