Hi there.
I couldn't find a casualty card or Volksbund entry, but found him in the Luftwaffe Officer Career Summaries.
OEHMICHEN, Holm. (DOB: 02.12.20). 22.09.44 Oblt. (Tr.O.) in Jagdgruppe West, KIA.

Ergänzungs-Jagdgruppe West (EJGr West) (Supplementary Fighter Group, West) was a fighter pilot training unit of the German Luftwaffe in World War II.

Kind regards,
Will.
Thanks so much! I couldn’t find anything.
No worries, I am glad to help.
According to the death notice, Holm was the last of three sons to fall during the war and here is some information about his brother Werner, the first to fall.
Name: Werner Oehmichen
Date of birth: 19.05.1919
Place of birth: Gringswalde Leipzig
Death/missing date: 31.12.1942
Place of death: Nordmeer (North Sea)
Service rank: Oberleutnant zur See
Military Unit: Zerstörerflottille (Destroyer Flotilla)
Werner Oehmichen is, as a fallen member of the German Navy, recorded by name either on one of the plates at the U-Boat Memorial at Möltenort near Kiel or in a memorial book on display at the Laboe Naval Memorial.

Thanks again for that info! I do have a question regarding the Oblt. (Tr.O.) . Specifically the Tr.O. Any chance you know what that stands for?
I would hazard a guess it stands for Oberleutnant Truppenoffizier, but hopefully someone can correct or confirm that. I think it would have been a kind of appointment based on the experience of a pilot and his ability to take over command if a more senior pilot was unable to carry out a task or remain in command during operations.
I think this is the second brother, Herbert who has been missing since mid 1944.
Name: Herbert Oehmichen
Date of birth: 29.04.1924
Death/missing date: 15.05.1944
Death/missing place: im Raum Krossnow
According to the information available to us, Herbert Oehmichen has been missing since 15.05.1944. We have recorded the name and the personal details of the person named above in the memorial book of the cemetery Iasi, Rumänien
Kind regards,
Will.
Thank you so much. You’re very helpful!
