Hello....would like to share and interesting document group I recently picked up....I normally collect wehrpasses but this grouping looked interesting...it appears to belong to a career German infantry soldier who I believe was primarily involved in training new units...at least that is what I could gather from what I have ....any additional input would be appreciated
the papers of Bruno Kindlund in chronological order....
his RAD booklet dated to April 1, 1935
a sport award document dated to Aug 12, 1937 for the tug-of-war event - at this time he is with the 30th ID/ 26th IR
an award document for the Anschluss medal for the annexation of Austria dated to Oct 10, 1939 and an award document for the Sudetenland Medal with Prague bar ** at this time it appears he was with the IR 133 which was composed of the former Austrian 14th IR ....likely continuing in his training capacity
a promotion document dated July 1, 1940 while with 278th ID / 548 IR - this division was formed in May 1940 and dissolved after the fall of France
a bit of a gap in time and then it appears he helped train the 373rd Croatian ID....a KVK2 m/s award document dated to Jan 30, 1944 and signed by General Eduard Aldrian....interesting to note * at that time the division was involved in the operation to capture Tito
General Aldrian
and lastly...it appears he was captured and survived the war....his refugee card front and back
thanks for looking....any input is appreciated !
