Feldpost M 50527
Hi All:
Can anyone help me with the following feldpost for Werner Stulz Feldpost 50527...I believe he was a kreigsmarine U-Boat signaler.
I have found a person that has a number of WW2 artifacts from this soldier and his family during the war, including a sandstone memorial stone. This stone was given to the family when lease ran out on the plot...the last remaining family member passed away and now the items will be for sale.
Thanks
ryan

Sorry to resurrect an old post, but I think this must be the memorial stone mentioned in the OP?

Hi there.
I love to see old threads resurrected.
I found a Werner Stulz with the same date of birth, but a different date of death. I would say this is the same man because he was on U-738.
Seaman Werner Stulz (1923-1944) - Find a Grave Memorial
He is also mentioned on the Volksbund.
Name: Werner Stulz
Date of birth: 1923
Place of birth -
Death/missing date: 14.02.1944
Death/missing place -
Service rank: Obergefreiter
Werner Stulz is, as a fallen member of the German Navy, recorded by name either on one of the plates at the U-Boat Memorial at Möltenort near Kiel or in a memorial book on display at the Laboe Naval Memorial.
It is interesting that the date of death on the memorial stone seems to be a year out.
U-738 -
Built at Schichau in Danzig, launched on Dec. 12, 1942 and commissioned on Feb. 20, 1943 the type VIIc U-boat, U-738 would never see war service. On February 14, 1944, a few days short of a year after she was commissioned, the boat was in the Baltic on a training exercise when she was rammed by SS Erna off off Gotenhafen (Gdynia), Poland. Twenty-two men, including her commanding officer were lost. Twenty-four men survived. The boat was raised on Mar. 3, 1944 and scrapped.
