    He was twenty years old without a specific profession, it simply says "Arbeiter" (Laborer, Worker)...
    I can only speculate that he was sent to Germany as Conscripted Labor...

    A very good possibility. A total of some 30,000 foreign laborers were working in Kassel, making up half of the workforce in the local armaments industry there, which included the Henschel works, home of the Tiger Tank.

    I've been reading the OKW War-Diaries, and I've seen mention of removing males of military age (In Wehrfaehigem Alter) from areas within France and Holland in the months prior to the Allied Invasion on the Continent...
    My grandmother mentioned working with Frenchmen in the Mannheim Kabelwerk, producing communications wire...She said they reeked of garlic, lol...
