Re: German Letters from the GARBAGE! Need Help Translating!
In a nutshell, the last letter is from a woman to her mother. Apparently the mother has had to move in with another family, and the daughter is trying to locate a room for her in her town, and possibly the same house so they can be together...
cheers, Glenn

Thanks! Does it say why...? Bombing damage?

No, it doesn't say why she's been moved into another family's house...but I was thinking the same thing, bomb damage...as she was living close to Leipzig this is certainly a possibility.

Thanks, Glen! If you get a chance to look at the feldpost, I'd really appreciate it, too!

It's not so easy to translate letters like thes, you have to know gothic German and be able to read hand writings like these (and usually the translators want high quailty scans). Usually costs 10-20 euro to have letters like this one translated.

Lieber Onkel Franz,
Dein Gutl

It's not written in old german (Sütterlin).. just simple handwriting. Maybe someone wants to translate? I'm currently too busy but I'll come back to this thread soon.
