Printed I think
I agree with reneblacky, it is handwritten. That is Sütterlinschrift, if it were typed it would have been in some form of Fraktur. I have never seen a regular typewriter that had Sütterlinschrift as a font on its keys. Publishers and printers used Sütterlinschrift font for specialty printing, but this letter does not fall into that category. The sender also block printed the addressee and other information on the envelope by hand, which causes me to think that she did not have a typewriter. She was clearly well trained in handwriting, probably in her years in the German elementary and middle school system, where it was drilled into her; just ask my wife. Dwight
