Nothing for Marinus unfortunately.
Name: Marinus Fischer
Date of birth: 12.02.1907
Place of birth: Sendling
Death/missing date: 25.01.1944
Death/missing place: Ca.6 km östl.Washnowka,ca.30 km N.O. Winniza
Service rank: Obergefreiter
Marinus Fischer has probably been transferred as an unknown soldier to the military cemetery Kyjiw -Sammelfriedhof .
Unfortunately, during our re-interment activities, we were not able to recover all the fallen German soldiers from his original burial place and transfer them to the cemetery Kyjiw -Sammelfriedhof. It is, however, possible that Marinus Fischer is one of the German soldiers whose remains have been recovered, but whom it has not been possible to identify, in spite of all our efforts.
wahrscheinlich unter den Unbekanntenv (probably among the unknowns).
Kind regards,
Will.
Thank you! I always appreciate your help with these
I am glad to help.
Hi there.
I went back and had a look for information about Marinus and I found a casualty card. I don't know how I missed it the first time to be honest.
Name: Marnius Fischer
Rank: Obergefreiter
Birth Date: 12 February 1907

Military Unit: 3./Kompanie Gebirgsjäger Regiment 91
Death Date: 25 January 1944
Death Place: CA 6 Km Östl Washarwka CA 30 Km No Winniza

I am not 100% sure, but I would read his cause of death as Gefallen: Kopfquetschung ??? Panzer (Killed in action: Head crushed/pinch/bruise/contusion ??? tank)
I don't know the abbreviation deh (???) in the cause of death. It may be that he was injured by a blast. Maybe he had something like a Cerebral contusion, Latin contusio cerebri, a form of traumatic brain injury. A bruise of the brain tissue.
Kind regards,
Will.
Thank you!!
