Help me learn
Hey there,
So im just being me here and i would love to learn.
This death notice here, i am guessing the man has a Waffenrock?
Im just trying to learn by guessing what its wearing. I see this because of the distinct white buttons and shape of the jacket.
Right or wrong?

Re: Help me learn
correct!
in this case, that silver border that runs all along the top of the collar and back and around it is what gives it away first.
this is an NCO waffenrock.

Thank you!
I believe Waffenrock is late war?

Re: Help me learn
i think these were no longer issued during the war... after 1939.
i think those that were still out there were modified as the war progressed by changes to the collar and removing the cuffs and adding breast pockets... modification for field use... stuff like that.
but i could be wrong here. i'm not a uniform guy so hopefully one will come along who will be more specific and correct me where i am wrong.

Hey there,
Í see that you're right on that! I've just done some google research and these where invented pre WW1. so they weren't late war issue.

Re: Help me learn
This infantry sergeant is wearing a waffenrock, correct. He also have the Heer marksmanship lanyard and some ribbons that I can't quite make out.
I believe that production of the waffenrock ceased in 1940.
