Going by my basic German, I'm sure it's a driving licence

I’m reading his name as Joseph Gustav Langenstück, and his DOB as 6th of June 1896.

Thank you Willmore, the pages were separated at some point would they have originally been bound together like a modern day passport or booklet or were they in a type of slip cover as loose documents I am not even sure if the set is complete and belong to the same person??

    Regards, G.

    Hi Geoff.

The ones I’ve seen are normally a single piece of card or reinforced cloth (I think) that is folded in the middle, sort of like a birthday or Christmas card. So there is the front cover, two inside pages and a back cover.

I’d say it is ok and complete, because it has his name on three of the four pages. It’s just written differently. I think the name under the photo is his signature.

I hope I have explained it ok...

The photo below shows a front/back and inside view.

Thank you very much! I really like the photographs! Reminiscent of the Old West in the U.S.A.! If anyone has one these it would be fun to see. I would assume you would be quite well off, or the person you worked for would be... The 1930 Model A Roadster sold for approximately $570.00 U.S. at the time!
