very nice,,,do you have any others,.?
yes a few different KM Ukrunde. The S-176 was part of a late war 3 part set, one photo of the crew in August 44 after service at Normandie actions and the S-boot doc recipient also having an EK II document but the familie post war defaced the official stamp.

Very nice. I do like these decorative style citations, and it is helpful that the KM used to put the mans unit at the top of the citations in pencil in a lot of cases.
thanks Kevin
have you found which Boot your S-Boot Doc recipient was from ?
E ~
No, unfortunately not. All I know is the 2 Flotilla. Trust me to get one of the citations the KM didn't make a note on!
post a scan Kevin maybe we can get some further discussion going on this thread or any others that have similar document. Honestly I have seen a good 6 or so but no penciled in S-Boot numerations like mine. yours is from 1940 yes ?
Aye, it is one of the backdated variants dated for December 1940. I've checked the crew lists on U-Bootwaffe and the only Ludwig Forster is listed as serving (and being killed) on the Scharnhorst (although obviously the database is far from complete). I've tried to attach the JPG file but it isn't being accepted.
It's always Nice to see these Decorative KM documents![]()
Of all the combat badge award documents I've always thought the ornate S-Boat was the most handsome design.
That one is signed by Oakleaves winner Rudolf Petersen
