    Luftwaffe Airfield found
    I have just bought this “small” collection and the seller told me it should be from an Luftwaffe Airfield, but he didn´t know from where.
    It contains some personal things (cigaretts, shoe polish, knife, Feldpost, action journals from the Squadron, an wind/ angel measurement, the wisor from the cap:
    A news paper:
    Idar-Oberstein National Montag 19 Maj 1941, also picturing Haupsturmführer Klingenberg (Befehlshaber der Wehrmacht dem SS-Hauptsturmführer Klingenberg, kompaniechef in einem Kradsschützen-Bataillon der Waffen-SS)

    A packet of: 125 G Knäckebrot (empty)

    A packet of cigarettes: Milde Sorte Austria Tabakwerke AG (empty) (Germany 1942
    10 pieces in Sliding Box
    Price 4 Rpf/piece = 0.40 RM
    Producer Austria Zigarettenfabrik Munich
    Trade Mark Owner Austria Tabakwerke

    3 packets of cigarettes: One with the year 1943 (all empty)
    A metal box with brown shoe polish: Schoencrem Braun (the polish still inside)
    A red metal box: Perhaps also polish cream
    Metal “ring”: 2. SK 164 Essbesteck (perhaps a permission to have a fork, knife, spoon)
    Cigaretten Bilderscheck 41 Hamburg (Buying cigarets and collecting propaganda pictures)
    A knife
    A letter Feldpost: Feldpost dated 19-10-43, on the letter there is a town perhaps Düsseldorf dated 28-10-43
    A small paperbag perhaps for corn or sugar: Diaden corn or sugar paperbag
    Some leather stuff
    A Luftwaffe visor from the cap
    An round disc for wind/ angel measurement: Windwinkel
    A lot of papers but a “jigsaw”: The papers describes the “actions” of the squadron. Some of the words on the papers:
    Staffeltrupp
    m.Gr.W.- Gruppe
    Gruppe Groiss
    Zug Ahlborn
    Zug vogler
    Rommelfangen (perhaps describing Rommel)
    Some of the papers dated:
    21.09.44, 4-5.10.44

    Nice group of relics - did they provide any photos of them being excavated? Easy to forget in the excitement but goes such a long way to proving the provenance ( and IMO adding to the overall presentation )

    Thank you very much, yes it is a pity we don´t know where it all has been found, but If someone know where the Squadron was located from these info, or other informations from the jigsaw papers . But we know the year 1944 from the papers :-)
