Original drawing of a German soldier but how common are these?

It is hard to say how common or otherwise an item like this is. Most likely it is unique, however there may be ones similar in style done by other people. If potential value is to come into play then I would say that it would be purely subjective. Cheers.

It is difficult to tell from your photo. It appears to be pen and ink but there is no way to tell when it was made.

It looks like the artist signed it did you try and research their name this might help to determine the age

I equate drawings like this to trench art, as they are basically the same thing-things being created by bored soldiers in the field with spare time to do. As said, it's likely that you'll be unable to get much more info on the artist, even if a signature could be deciphered, as it appears to have been done by a common soldat who felt like drawing. The style is actually not all that smoothly done, and this also indicates a run of the mill soldier(note the huge size of the Hand holding the rifle butt). But, still it is what it is-a period created piece and probably field drawn as well, and as such it certainly has appeal and collectability. The soldier in the picture appears cheerful enough-even though he is apparently Goose-stepping! A nice item, over all and a neat find!
