Excellent! I think you are correct. As he has the collar tabs of the pioneer (confirmed by the EKM). Der Fuhrer was part of Das Reich that fought in that area. And Marquartstein is close to the Traunstein where the card was produced (20KM)

Some more info on the unit.

Mit Befehl des RFSS und Chef der Deutschen Polizei im Reichsministeriums des Inneren, Oberkommando I (O) (3) Nr. 184/42 , Berlin, den 9.Juli 1942 betr. Zusammenfassung der Polizei – bzw. Reserve-Polizei-Bataillone zu Polizei-Regimenter und Bestimmung neuer Standorte (Anhang) wurde das Polizei-Regiment 17 in Nord-Rußland aufgestellt. Neben dem neu aufgestellten Stab wurden dem Regiment die Polizei-Bataillone 42, 69 und 74 zugeteilt. Das III. Bataillon wurde bereits kurz nach der Aufstellung als I. Bataillon an das Polizei-Schützen-Regiment 32 abgegeben und durch das I. / SS-Polizei-Regiment 28 neu gebildet. Das Regiment versah polizeiliche Aufgaben (Streifendienst, Objektschutz) in seinem Bereich und wurde zudem zu mehreren Partisaneneinsätzen herangezogen. Am 24.Februar 1943 wurden die Polizeiregimenter in SS-Polizeiregimenter umbenannt. Das Polizei-Regiment 17 erhielt folglich die Bezeichnung SS-Polizei-Regiment 17. Diese Entscheidung des Reichsführers SS und Chef der Deutschen Polizei wurde mit der „Anerkennung ihres besonders tapferen und erfolgreichen Einsatzes…“ begründet.
