Safe Conduct Pass with Lifesavers Candy Advertisement?

A fellow teacher buddy of mine has been scouring antique stores for me. Today, he found this on the cheap and picked it up for me.

Does it stand a chance at being authentic? I think it's kind of odd that a candy advertisement would be printed on the back... I guess it could serve as a bit of psy-ops/ propaganda to get American troops to be nostalgic for home and surrender. OR perhaps if folded the right way an American soldier could hide it in plain sight from his comrades so wouldn't know that he planned to surrender?

i can not tell you if it is genuine or not, but i can tell you that this leaflet, if genuine, is a known example which was printed exactly like this... Life Savers ad and all on the back.

there is a number on the back next to a maltese cross. number 3, which you have here, had the Life Savers "ad" printed on it. i believe they ran in numbers from 1 to 13. each had something different on the back.
