Just thought I'd share this recently acquired set to a sailor who was transferred over to the Heer and fought at Narva in 1944.
The first citation is for the High Seas Fleet Badge and is dated in October 1942 for service on the battleship Schleswig-Holstein. Whether this was actually awarded for service on the ship in 1942 or was retrospectively awarded for when she served in the Polish Campaign in 1939 is open to question. The signature is that of Konteradmrial Joachim Lietzmann.
Next up is the EK II and is dated for 23rd February 1944 and by this time the sailor had transferred across to the Heer and was by now serving with Gren.Rgt 333 of 225 Infanterie Division. The signature is that of Generalleutnant Walther Risse.
This is followed by the citation for the Infantry Assault Badge, dated for 14th May 1944 and is signed by the Regimental Commander, Oberstleutnant Aschen.
Finally we have the citation for the Wound Badge in Black and it was awarded for an injury received on 11th August 1944. It was awarded while the soldier was in a hospital back in Germany (Genthin.)
