I know this thread has primarily been KC recipients thus far, but I got this Himmler autograph recently. I know his signatures are one of the popular ones to forge, but I trust the guy I got this one from. He hasn't failed me yet. That being said, he told me he got it from a friend of his in Munich. This friend said his father met Himmler when he was in Munich and he signed the picture for him.
Sorry the signature is a little hard to see. The ink has faded over the years.

Personally i'm not a fan of the HH signature from what I can see. It has a lot of differences from his normal one, length style, pattern. It could be due to the fact that it looks like it has bleed or been sucked into the photo paper, however i would not have paid what a HH photo commanded for this photo with so many issues.

Hi Morris, thank you for your input. I don’t know if this would make much of a difference, but the photo is on thinner paper, 4 inches by 5 inches approximately, perhaps a little thicker than a magazine page - definitely not photo paper. There’s a printed message on the back in German but I didn’t think to post that side.
The guy I got it from said he was trying to retire so I got this at a sale price - $400.

Personally I would have let it go for $400 just because it will be incredibly hard to move on/authenticate as it stands.
Because of the thick conjoined "er" characters at the end as well as the join "H" lines in Himmler It possibly could have been done with an water based ink stamp which is a favorite for fakers to use.
However these are just my humble observations, computer screens always make it difficult with these washed out photos. Also i find it interesting that he signed a photo he is not in, there is only one known photo of him from the Beer Hall Putsch march.

Very true, Morris. I’ll just have to trust the guy I got it from and be careful in the future. I will certainly check with you guys with later possibilities - you have a lot more experience than I do. Better to be safe than sorry. I *did* think to post a Rommel photo in another thread earlier today, as I know his are heavily faked.
