Wasn't she married to the kommandant of a concentration camp?
I don't think so. She was a guard at a concentration camp and handled dogs. Prisoners reported her sicking dogs on them, severely injuring them or killing them sometimes. Interestingly enough, after the war ended and before her role in the Holocaust was revealed, she immigrated to the United States and married a German Jew living in San Francisco whose family was murdered in the Holocaust. They married in 1962 and he died in 2004. Get this -- he never knew of her past. Not too long after her husband's death, her past came to light and she was in trouble!
She was a dog handler at Ravensbrück women’s concentration camp, and was deported from the US like stated above. It was a Mark Felton, war stories where I got the image and story.
