That would sound as if he was stationed in the Channel Islands or post-war POW booklet? do you know more about where he was stationed? very nice set indeed.

(8.9.1942-11.3.1943) Stab III u. 9.-12. Kompanie Grenadier-Regiment 735,
(23.4.1944-24.11.1944) 6.9.1944 gestrichen.
715 Infanterie Div spent most of it's time on the Atlantic coast defences but did see combat in Italy in 1944/1945.
The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )
