Unusual/funny reason for a penalty while serving in the Wehrmacht
Just wanted to share this rather unusual/funny reason I found for getting a penalty.
Rough translation: penalty:isn’t allowed to go out after 20:00 o’clock for the duration of 8 days
Reason: damaged the reputation of the Wehrmacht in public by smacking his cap so hard onto a desk that the
Visor (or maybe the insignia on the cap?) broke off and putting his damaged cap onto his head
while being mildly intoxicated on a cruiseship on the Bodensee.
Later in the war that guy would receive the knights cross.

Hi there.
What a great topic.
Here is one I remember reading about -
During the attack on the fort of Eben Emael, Oberjäger Ernst Grechza was the only member of the Sturmgruppe Granit that was only awarded the Eisernes Krreuz II.Klasse and not the I.Klasse also. This was because of the fact that he was found drunk on Dome 120 at Eben-Emael by Oberfeldwebel Wenzel.
