Re: Wochenspruch - Herman Goering
"Somewhat rare"? I'd defy anyone to find another such! Very nice piece!

I'm not sure how these things worked but he may have been the proprietor of the Gasthaus and ordered or been sent one of these posters for display in his establishment.
It's a great set anyhow and would make a super display.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Had a search on Google maps etc..... there are other Gasthaus zum Ochsen but seemingly not in Dudenhofen.
Another ironic thing is is that it was postmarked on Armistice Day 1939 ( 11/11 ) ...... shades of things to come! ( insert spooky music here )

Thanks Adrian, yeah he WAS probably the owner ...that makes more sense than a permanent guest ( although there are many of those )
These were supposedly sent out weekly to the party faithful as "inspirational words" to be placed in the home or workplace.
I suppose Gauleiters distributed these in their areas of responsibility. If so ( and Dudenhofen was in Gau Pfalz-Saar ) then this charming chap, Joseph Burkel was the main man! Josef Bürckel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
