I think it is gorgeous! Although I admit I know little about Austrian Tschapka's.
While an Austrian Tschapka, I will move this thread to the Pickelhaub section as it includes other forms of non soft headgear including Tschapkas!
I will leave a redirect in the Austrian section.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated
My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Looksd authentic, but there are some issues with this tschapka. It
s of course missing the black horsehair plume & holder, and there should be two thin brass supports mounted vertically from each side. Also, not sure why there is a cockade on the right side
Ulan Regt. Nr. 5 had a light blue cover, not red as on this example.

Yes, you are correct; I simply forgot about the Landwehr Ulans.
My apologies.
BobS
No apologies needed Bob, I think everything seems correct except for the above mentioned. I think the cockade was added later by a collector. But I have not been bothered to mess with it.
All the best Patrik
A spectacular piece of headgear . Congratulations and thanks for showing.
