hi, please see the below thread, thanks!
https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/discu...-thread-17587/
I was surprised to find out (recently) that Totenkopf (units) existed prior to WW2, so it wouldn't be fantasy to see Totenkopf materiel from WW1. I'm just not sure covering part of the Prussian eagle would've been allowed. Maybe someone else might have better information.
Indeed a fantasy piece, but the pickelhaube itself is good.
Edit: I believe these skulls are reproduced quite heavily.

Corey
I just did a little research apparently some of these did exist. Is their a unit designation on the front?
That helmet frontplate did exist!
It was the Braunschweigisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr.92.
Not sure thise one is original, better pic's are needed!
cheers

I have been studying the picture a bit better, and can tell you that thise helmet is not a original time piece!
The eagle is wrong to the helmet and to the skull!
So I would pass on thise one!

imho this one is a made in india ebay special
there are laods of them for sale on ebay
cheers ian
I have read that an original goes for untold amounts of money. They must be exceedingly rare, or overpriced, maybe both.
Corey
It's indeed a full reproduction... besides that, the skull is an officers model and the helmet is an enlisted man's model. So this fake is supposed to be an enlisted man's helmet of Braunschweigisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr.92...
Originals are very rare...
