Who wouldn't want a pickelhaube? I know I wanted one from the 1st time I seen one sitting on Col. Klinks' desk
Having wanted one for a while, yet unwilling to pay full retail for one, my options were limited. Finally found one at a shop around here and at 1st glance it didn't look too bad, til I picked it up. The rear neck piece, chin strap, and cockades were missing and the rear trim was in bad shape. But, for 50 bucks I figured I could fix it. I don't think it turned out too bad, what say you?

Nicely done! At 1st sight, it looked like a train wreck, but it came out great! What does the interior look like?

I have been kind of holding out hope of finding an original, but haven't had much luck, can"t believe how expensive they are! Everything is put away right now for some remodeling, when everything goes back out on display, I think I will get one of the good quality repros and age it a bit.

It's pretty rough. Has a few tears, but it is all there.

Thanks for the comments. I just can't let things die, if there is any hope of fixing it, I'm going to give it a shot.
