Tropical? Experimental? Prussian Spiked Pith Helm

I can't seem to find another example! Any thoughts?

Appears to be a stiff "canvas" covering over either cork or fiber. Very lightweight. Smaller than normal helmet plate which still retains some of the same Olive color subdued finish which matches the exterior of the pith helmet.

I would almost say it was cobbled together by someone - but that spike is unique in shape and nothing I've ever seen on any other haube?

Interesting helmet as it does look like a Schutztruppe colonial lid. But some differences to these photos.

I asked some other guys. They confirmed that with the Prussian Wappen and cockades, it is complete fantasy. It should have an imperial Wappen and cockades.

To add, they noted that the parts appear to be real but everything on the external has been added. Spike were worn on these helmets but only on officer examples.

Further: The spike is for a Kurassier (Heavy Cavalry ) and RJR 41 (Reserve Infantry Regiment 41) did NOT have a Kurassier regiment.

Shame MAP, as it would be a pretty cool helmet if it was real. The Wappen and other fittings appear to fit very well so someone obviously went to quite some lengths to create this one.
