Here's the Polish language entry from the Wielecki / Sieradzki reference providing details of the regiment's history from formation up until the September Campaign, and also information about the regimental badge.

    Thanks Tony,

I'm trying to identify the medals on my grand dad's chest. Is there any one out there that can help. I thought he was in the 69th Infantry Regiment. I know he fought in the Battle of Warsaw in 1920 and won the Virtuti Militari, but that's all the family knows. Any good sources of Polish army pictures during 1920?

I tried to post a picture of my granddad with his medal, but attachment ap is not working.

Thanks everyone for posting the 69th regiment pictures.

    David

Yes, there is a reasonably good photo record of the period and a good number of books published on the Polish-Bolshevik War of 1920. Many of the titles and some images should pop up through an internet search.
