I echo Jecek's comment. What are the chances of finding a picture of the same ribbon bar mounted to a fragment of the original tunic?! The internet 'information highway' never ceases to amaze me.

Hi Igor,
SP. ulan Jan Szymczyk was KIA during the combats at Lagarde on the 14.VI.1940. His Recce Squad. was engaged against the german attempt to breake through the lines of Polish defence.

-Walki Pierwszje Dyw. Gren. w Francji 1940 "Wykonac 4444",s.: 107-13 and 220-22
-Krzeczunowicz: Ulani Ksiecia Jozefa, s.:284-87 and 294-295

As far as I can concern he was buried at Schweix.
