These are very cool helmets to collect. My understanding is that there were a total of 330,000 made. I have one stripped of it's exterior paint unfortunately, but still retains the original horsehair pads in great condition! No original chinstrap, though. Photos will be forthcoming once I dig it out from storage. Check to see that the second rivet is copper, meaning the helmet was for military issue to combat soldiers. I'm sure yours is being a battlefield find. Nice helmet! Especially it's history.
