The document starts out from top:
"Polish Army of Duchy of Warsaw,
Frederyk August, from the grace of God King of Saxony, Duke of Warsaw... "
Here is a page from book titled : "Polish Army of Duchy of Warsaw 1807-1814 "
It lists all Regiments and Officers. Here it shows Lieutenant Drozdowski starting out in the 8th Infantry Regiment, and being promoted and transferred to 16th Infantry Regiment (Czartoryski).
16th Regiment went to Russia and fought outstanding at Smolensk.
The Regiment was also mentioned for bravery in battles: Mozajsk, Czerylow, Berezyna crossing, and Chemnitz in 1813.
That is a really neat document.
Just got another Napoleonic Promotion document.
This one is rather special, it is a " List Sluzby " (Letter of Service) or Promotion. It is a promotion to Kapitan Adjutant Major, for Jacenty (Jacek) Kochanowski. It is also rare to have it signed by General Jozef Wielhorski, Deputy Minister of War. Documents signed by Duke Jozef Poniatowski are more common.
"Special" is an understatement. Wonderful score KrakowYou have my envious congratulations!
(shame there's no smiley in green)
Cheers,
Tony

Thanks Tony.
Jacenty Kochanowski won a Virtuti Military 3rd Class. Here is a page from Wesolowski's book. No date of award, however it gives rank as Captain, so sometime in 1812 and most likely for the Russian Campaign of 1812.
