Polish Ring

Hi all, I have a ring that I believe is Polish as I got it in Poland. It is small size with a small cross then a heart then the date 1939 then another heart then a cross. I was told it might be for medical staff helping during the German invasion but really dont know. If anyone has heard of this it would be great to know what it is.

Sorry for the lack of pics but the camera is bust at the moment.
