Hello Everyone,

Whilst surfing yesterday I came across the following which I thought I would share with you all,

VM with Diploma and photograph of Kpr. sp. Klemens Falkowski 1PUL killed aged 18

Memorial on Family grave

I also came across the following VM Legit awarded during WW2 to a soldier from 1st Armoured Division

Plut. Kazimierz Smoleński 1st Anti Tank Artillery Regt, 1st Arm Div.

Hello Everyone,

Whilst doing a bit of surfing the other day I came across the following, which I thought I would share with you:

Virtuti Militari Legit Nr : 8397

Details of Recipient are as follows:

Rank : Plut. (Lance Sergeant) Air Gunner

Surname: SZKLARSKI

Christian Name : Mieczysław Walenty

Date of Birth : 11th March 1913

Service Nr: 782185

By the end of the war he had been promoted to Podporucznik Air Gunner with the VM and KW x 3, ML x 2, Service Nr: P2827, he had also married Mary Eileen Hunt in Blackpool in 1945.

In 1951 he applied for and was granted British Citizenship on the 1st February 1951 and changed his name to Michael Valentine Scott, he died in Blackpool on the 15th October 1986.

Hello Everyone,

When doing some surfing the other day I came across the following which is not often seen, I have one awarded to a Staff Sergeant 2nd Corps, but unfortunately with out the certificate.

Warrant Officer (Starszy Sierzant) Pilot, Franciszek Zaremba, Service Nr : 780216, Born : 28th October 1914 in Grudziądz, served with 301 & 138 Squadron's awarded the Virtuti Militari Silver Cross Nr : 9083, KW x 4, ML, M-I-D.

Killed in Action on the 30th October 1942 2 days after his 28th Birthday in an attack on Oslo.

Awarded to Kapitan Alojzy Kaczmarczyk (Born : 31st May 1896), 5PPLeg, by 1934 Kpt.rez. serving in 42pp with KN KW SKZ.

Hello Again Everyone,

One more Virtuti Militari Silver Cross Legitymacja that I found whilst surfing,

Virtuti Militari Legitymacja Nr : 7828 awarded to Podporucznik (2nd Lieutenant) Stanisław Gliński for bravery in the Silesian Uprising, born in Warszawa on the 10th March 1900, by 1932 he was a Rotmistrz (Captain of Horse) serving in the 1PSzwol (1st Light Horse Regiment) attached to the Department of Cavalry in the Ministry of War. He had also by that time been awarded the VM, KNzM, KW x 4, SKZ.

He went on to be Commanding Officer of the 4th Armoured Regiment (Scorpian)

Pplk Stanisław Gliński centre driving with goggles, by the wars end he had been promoted to Pulkownik (Colonel), he died in Launceston, Tasmania on the 26th February 1994 and was repatriated to Poland and buried in Opole on the 24th September 1994.

Hello Everyone,

I came across this Virtuti Militari Legit last night whilst surfing :

VM Legit Numbered : 1322 when awarded the recipients details were as follows: Starszy Sierzant Paweł Reński 13th Engineers Battalion, by 1933 he had been promoted to Chorąży (Warrant Officer) serving in 2nd Engineers Regiment.

Mid 1930s photo showing his awards as VM Nr : 1322, KW, MN (actually showing the revese of the 1918-1921 War Medal), Bronze Cross of Merit with Bar denoting 2nd Award, and the 1918-1921 War Medal ribbon with the reverse of the 10th Anniversary of Independence Medal showing. He must have been in a rush to mount them or his children or wife did it ?
