Hi. Recently I have become the owner of this cross of valor, I am posting photos. In my opinion, this is the original cross of Albin Różycki, the second variant with a date, but please confirm it. I don't like the ribbon and the circle. In my opinion, the period of the Polish People's Republic. Regards Adrian.
Ribbon on the inside.
Hello Everyone,
I found the following yesterday whilst surfing:
Virtuti Militari Silver Cross obverse
Virtuti Militari Silver Cross reverse numbered: 2852
When awarded the recipients details were as follows:
Rank: Podporucznik (2nd Lieutenant)
Surname: Peto
Christian Name: Feliks Wincenty
Date of Birth: 4th April 1898
In the Rocznik Oficerski 1923 (Officers Yearbook 1923) he was listed has a Reservist with the VIII Dyon Samochodowy, but during the wars of 1918-1921 he was serving in the Wielkopolksi Army in their Armoured Car unit.
In the 1934 Reserve Officers Yearbook he had been promoted to Porucznik on the 2nd January 1932 and was 4th in seniority, in 1934 he was listed has living in GrudziÄ…dz, he died in Poland in 1984.
p.s. interestingly Professor Wesolowski Register of the Virtuti Militari spelt his surname as Petko, whilst Dr. Andrzej Suchcitz Register listed the correct spelling.
Best wishes
Andrzej
