I can appreiate on one hand what Real Steal is saying because he doesnt have the benefit of 'hands on' the items but on the other hand I have never known a badge collector put any great emphais on provenance of ownership of an item has no registration details, the overriding concern seems to be is it of period and genuine. It is however nice to know that the collection DID in fact all come from one person and to my knowledge has been framed and underglass for many years prior to 1976 when he passed away. If you look at the main photo of the collection you will see the items mounted on a velvety background. most items have been kept in place by using thin cotton thread sewn over the corners of items and into the backing material. If you look closely where the Monte Casino Cross has moved (from checking the number) you can see how new lookign the cloth behind it is compared to how faded the rest of it is. I am pleased that the owner has decided to keep the medal and ribbon group together however as at least some history and memory is reatained. Thanks to you all again for your input
