That is a very good looking cigarette case.
A very nice 1946 2PolCorps divisions case...and period made in Italy just before 2PolCorps was sent to the UK for demobilisation into the Polish Resettlement Corps.

Hello Thomas,
A very nice item, all that I can add is the Following: Sierzant Pchr (Sergeant, Officer Cadet) was 2nd in command of the 1st Platoon of the Commando Company. When awarded the Monte Cassino Cross he had been promoted to Podporucznik (2nd Lieutenant) Antoni ZEMANEK, born 1917, his Service Number (also found on his ID Tags): 1917/119/III, Unit: Commando Company Monte Cassino Cross Numbered: 48415.
I hope that the above information is of some use and help.
Best wishes
Andrzejku
Thank you very much Andrzejku! This is a superb info so thank you again. This cig holder is one of my favorite items and I love looking at it so now I have a name with a bit more info which is so nice. Maybe a photograph of Podporuczniuk Zamanek will come up somewhere ... who knows.
Also thank you for nice comments from the other members.
Cheers,
Thomas
Hi Thomas,
A beautiful cigarette case. I remember the auction for this case back in 2010 as I was an unsuccessful bidder. It’s nice to see it again. Since that time another one of these, or rather the enameled front plate that fastens to the case body, hit the market. The seller did not know what it was.
Regards,
Tony

Thank you Tony. I was trying to figure out when I got it on Allegro. I think it was 2008. The seller was selling some very nice pieces for few years there at Allegro (Skoczek4 - if my memory is not playing tricks with me, he).
Sorry for beating you to the final bid) It is safe with me in Australia now!
Cheers,
Thomas
