Hello Louise,
Many thanks for your reply and post showing your Grandfathers Awards, interesting that the 9BSK Badge is shown above the 2nd Corps Badge.
The 9BSK was the 9th Rifle Battalion of the 3rd Brigade of the 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division, whilst your Grandfather was an Artillery Officer in the 5th Kresowa Infantry Division, the only way to confirm if he was awarded the Badges of the 9BSK would be if you have the Legitymacja, the 9BSK took the Italian City of Bologna in April 1945 the Crowned Eagle is clutching a shield with the Cities Coat of Arms.
Anyway Louise a Fantastic display thank you for sharing it with us.
Best wishes
Andrzej
Hello Louise,
The photograph of your Grandfather which Andrzej posted in his post number #8 was taken in Tatiszczewo (USSR) between September 15, 1941 and January 19, 1942. In Tatiszczewo was formed the 5 Wileńska Dywizja Piechoty (5th Vilnius Infantry Division).
The description of the photo is as follows: 2nd Lieutenant L. Kulbicki - Commander of a platoon of 76 mm gun battery in the 15th Infantry Regiment "Wilków" ("Wolves").
A very impressive display of medals. As Andrzej mentioned, apart the Virtuti Militari your Grandfather was also awarded the Cross of Valour with a bar (twice).
In the book titled "Prisoners of war in Griazowiec and Suzdal" he is listed as follows:
Regards
Konrad
