Hello AlienKingPL,
Many thanks for your post it seems to be alright to me, although slight battered in places.
Some better photographs of the Cross would be appreciated
Best wishes

can the ring in this cross be smooth?
Helllo AlienKingPL,
Many thanks for your reply, the top ring through which the neck ribbon runs is smooth but the bottom ring attached to the Cross, should be has shown in the photographs below :
I sincerely hope that the above photographs address your question AlienKingPL, but as always happy to help it would seem that the ring on your cross may be a replacement, that is why I said better photographs needed in my first reply.
Best wishes
Andrzej
does the fact that the bottom ring is smooth indicate that the cross is fake?
Hello AlienKingPL,
Many thanks for your quick reply and the better photograph the enamel seems also to be poorly finished from your photograph , the main manufacturer of the Order was the Warsaw based firm of Wiktor Gontarczyk.
It may be that this is a copy produced in France ?
Hopefully one of the other forum members will add their comments.
Best wishes
Andrzej
so is it a copy?
Hello AlienKingPL,
Many thanks for your post, I have found the original drawings for the Commanders Cross by the French Firm Delande
which shows the same design of ring has produced by Gontarczyk.
It is hard to really be sure of anything from mere photographs, but it might even be a piece produced post war in the UK ?
Best wishes
Andrzej
