thank-you Andrej & Artur. The information adds much more to the group. As a footnote, these came out of an estate in Canada and there were a couple of Royal Canadian Legion pins with the group. I know that is not conclusive of anything, but it may be a line to pursue.

    Hello Bull Moose,

I have done a little more digging for you Józef Maszaro left the UK in 1947 bound for Canada, not a great deal of information on him in Canada, other than Voters Lists for 1968 and 1974 when he was living in Ontario and listed under the Name Joseph Maszaro. The Index of victims of soviet repression list him as Józef Maszara whilst the MCC Register lists him as Józef Maszaro, I would tend to stick with Maszaro.

I have also gone through the 5KDP Yearbooks from 1997-2009 with no joy, I would think that he died in the 1980's because the September 1939 Campaign medal was only instituted in September 1981 by the Polish Government in Warsaw. ?

I would also try contacting the SPK Branch in Ottawa, to see if they can provide any further information.

    Best wishes

    Andrzej
