    Hello Artur,

In your original post you stated that the Name was SIKORSKI Bolesław, please make your mind up about the Surname, there is No listing for a Bolesław Skorski. The Monte Cassino Cross Numbered 21190 was awarded to a Chorąży who served in the 5PAL whose name was not Bolesław Skorski.

What exactly do you want me to look for Artur ?

    Hello Dear Andrzejku

SIKORSKI Bolesław soldier he did not serve in 3 DSK.
SIKORSKI Bolesław he did not serve in 13,14,15,16,17,18 BS.

Maybe he was the soldier of another unit for example 6 pal,1 szpital wojenny,22 KT etc.

Can you check if SIKORSKI Bolesław is on the list recipients MCC from the number 21190 to the last number on the list.

I can not verify or find this soldier because I have an incomplete and partial list...

The correct data is SIKORSKI Bolesław not SKORSKI Bolesław...

    THX

    Best wishes

    Hello Everyone

This Saturday marks the 75th Anniversary of the 12PULP Pennon flying above the ruined Abbey at Monte Cassino later on replaced by the Polish and British Flags flown side by side.

Last Saturday there was an event to mark the 75th Anniversary at the National Arboretum in Staffordshire, which was attended by the Polish Military.

There was also a Church Service to Remember those who lost their lives at Monte Cassino some of those that attended the Service were from Ilford Park in Devon. There were also 3 Veterans from the 2nd Corps that attended the Service on Wednesday 15th May, Zenon Słomka, Jan Grzesik and Wacław Domagala.

    Hello Rotmistrz,

In response to your question, who was awarded the Monte Cassino Cross Numbered 17594, when awarded the Recipients details were as follows :

    Rank : Plut. (Lance Sergeant)

    Surname : Zdunek

    Christian Name : Józef

    Fathers Name : Piotr

    Date of Birth : 1907

Army Number : (also found on His ID Tags) 1907-33-III

    Unit : 15BS (15th Rifle Battalion), 5KDP.

During the September 1939 Campaign he was either a Regular or Reservist, who with his Company marched over the border with Lithuania on the 19th September. No doubt he thought that the Lithuanians would let them travel on to France, but what lay ahead of them was Siberia and nearly 2 years of slave labour. Józef Zdunek reached Tatiszczewo on the 3rd September 1941 and once again became part of the Polish Army.

    Hello Everyone,

Well the 75th Anniversary of the Polish victory at Monte Cassino is today, the first flag flown from the Abbey was a Pennon of the 12PULP, which is now held at the PISM in London.
