Hi Andrzej,
I wonder if you can help me with MCC 2315
This was gifted to me (along with his British medals) by my Grandfathers friend, who died in the UK with no family (as far as I knew). His name was Klemens Bibik (but that memory is very hazy with me).
Is it possible to verify his name?
Hello tkz,
Regarding Klemens Bibik:
He was born in 1914, father's name: Michał, he joined the Anders Army on 2nd September 1941 in Tockoje.
He is listed in the Register of the 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division (3 DSK) as:
BIBIK Klemens, Army Number: 1914-125-III, Rank: kapral (Corporal), Unit: 12 Pułk Ułanów Podolskich (12th Podolski Lancers Regiment), 3 DSK
I assume that while awarding the Monte Cassino Cross he was in the rank of starszy strzelec (Lance Corporal).
Regrads
Konrad
Hi Konrad,
Thank you very much!
It is so difficult to track people affected by WW2 - so many took different names or Anglicised them
You're welcome, Tkz.
I think we all here would love to see those medals that are in your possession especially the Monte Cassino Cross.
If this is not a problem for you, then could you post the pictures of it?
Thank you in advance
Konrad
