Another Face of a Recipient of the Monte Cassino Cross :



Ppor. Adolf Bartoszewski

Born 15th January 1907, Army Number during the Italian Campaign : 1907-92-III, Unit : 1BSK, & 7BSK

During the 2WW he received the following awards and Medals

1) Silver Cross Virtuti Militari Legitymacja Numbered : 11591

2) Cross of Valour, Legit Nr : 12226

3) Army Medal Legit Nr : 1217

4) Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 1171

5) Wound Ribbon with 2 Stars Legit Nr : 2777

British

6) 1939-1945 Star

7) Italy Star

8) 1939-1945 Defence Medal

9) 1939-1945 War Medal

After the end of the war in Europe he came to the UK with his Battalion and then settled down to civilian life, he returned to Poland in the 1960's and died there on the 12th December 1990.

Born : 19th January 1912

Army Number : 1912-122-III

Unit : 2BSK

Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 12512



Monte Cassino Cross Reverse Numbered : 12512 awarded to Strz.Paweł Siomucha, 2BSK

After the end of the war in Europe he came to the UK with his Battalion and after being demobbed he settled down to civilian life in London.

In 1953 he married Rosie Levy

The Aliens book that was issued him has a few notes in he was warned by the Police for failure to notify them of a change of address and then failure to notify them of his marriage.

They did like to keep an eye on all Aliens.

They had 16 years of married life until on the 11th October 1969 Paweł Siomucha died.
