    To continue with the Faces of Recipients of the Monte Cassino Cross who settled in London and had their Alien's Cards issued by the Metropolitan Police :

    Date of Birth : 26th June 1912

    Army Number : 1912-166-III

    Unit : 3KBCKM (3rd Carpathian Heavy Machine Gun Battalion)

    After the end of the war in Europe, he came to the UK with his Company and after being demobbed from the Polish Resettlement Corps he found himself a civilian in a foreign country, he settled in London in Lewisham where he died on the 19th June 2006 7 days short of his 94th Birthday.

    After the end of the war in Europe, he came to the UK with the Headquarters Staff and after being demobbed settled down to civilian life finally settling down Richmond upon Thames were in died in November 1993 aged 84 years of age.

    Whilst Surfing this Morning I also came across the following Group, which I just thought you might like to see, because of one reason the ID Tags and 2nd Corps Badge Legit where awarded to one person and the Monte Cassino Cross etc where awarded to another.

    But they are being sold as belonging to the Officer :

    The Monte Cassino Cross when awarded the Recipients Details were as follows :

    Rank : Bomb.

    Surname : Kozłowski

    Christian Name : Stanisław

    Date of Birth : 8th February 1909

    Army Number : 1909-343-III

    Unit : 5PAL, 5KDP

    Died on the 5th November 2005 in Kent.

    Whilst the 2nd Corps Badge and Legit and ID tags were awarded to Ppor. Kazimierz Kwasnica.

    The Army Medal and 2nd Corps Badge Numbered : 045822 were most likely awarded to Bomb. Kozłowski.

    When awarded the Monte Cassino Cross the Recipients details were as follows :

    Rank : St.Sierz.

    Surname : Wielebski

    Christian Name : Antoni

    Fathers Name : Józef

    Date of Birth : 1900

    Army Number : 1900-93-III

    Unit : 13BS, 5KDP

    Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 16093

    He was also awarded the KW for Valour at Monte Cassino and also awarded the BKZzM in 1945.

    After the end of the War in Europe he came to the UK with his Battalion, he also received the following awards :

    Polish

    1) Cross of Valour.

    2) Bronze Cross of Merit with Swords

    3) Army Medal

    British

    4) 1939-1945 Star

    5) Italy Star

    6) 1939-1945 Defence Medal

    7) 1939-1945 War Medal

    After being demobbed from the Polish Resettlement Corps he settled down to civilian life in a foreign country, Antoni Wielebski died on the 26th December 1951 and was buried in Oxford on the 31st December 1951.

    I found the following photograph whilst surfing today :

    Date of Birth : 12th December 1917

    Army Number : 1917-34-III

    Unit : 17BS, 5KDP

    Monte Cassino Cross Numbered : 18934

    Also awarded the KW after the end of the war in Europe, he came to the UK and then went onto Canada where he died on the 12th November 2017 a month short of his 100th Birthday.

    I then found the following photograph taken after the Battle of Monte Cassino.

    Left to Right are the following personnel

    1) Plk. Dr. Marian Dietrich MCC Nr : 41447

    2) Sisotra sal. Izabella Drozdowski MCC Nr : 41470

    3) Major Dr. Leon Kehle MCC Nr : 41454

    Major Dr. Leon Kehle went on to be promoted to Pplk. and was awarded the following awards : KW, ZKZzM, KZ x 2.

    After the end of the war in Europe he married Izabella and they both came to the UK with their Unit, after being demobbed he set up Practice in Chaddesden where he died on the 6th September 1968 just 9 days short of his 68th Birthday (Born 15th September 1900).

    His wife who was born on the 24th December 1912 went onto live a long life and died on the 10th June 2004.
